Merlin’s Mayhem: Dutch Wonderland’s New Ride for 2017 Unveiled
Suspended Roller Coaster takes flight at A Kingdom for Kids!

Nov. 1, 2016 (Lancaster, PA) – Dutch Wonderland is excited to announce the addition of their first suspended family roller coaster, Merlin’s Mayhem, scheduled to open during the summer of 2017. Merlin’s Mayhem will feature new thrills, twists and turns, as guests experience an enchanted journey with Dutch Wonderland’s friendly magician, Merlin.

Families will join Merlin on a high-flying adventure in search of his dragon friend, Mayhem, who has disappeared into the park. Thematic events, beginning in the queue, reveal the story of Mayhem and Merlin. Once guests board the ride, Merlin will begin giving clues and encouragement through on-board audio within the seats. As the enchanted flying machine returns to the station, the mischievous Mayhem is safely reunited with Merlin.

Merlin’s Mayhem, manufactured by S&S Worldwide, will be the tallest ride located at Dutch Wonderland, featuring a 60 foot rise to the top, along with two helix turns. At a minimum height requirement of 39 inches, this new roller coaster will be enjoyed by young and old alike.

7,5 Millionen US$ (6,8 Mio.

East Lampeter Township, Pa. -- While autumn is just settling in, Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster County is looking ahead to summertime. The amusement park announced Monday that it will offer a brand new attraction to visitors in the Summer of 2017. The new ride is called Merlin's Mayhem. Riders help the wizard Merlin find his lost dragon, Mayhem, while traveling on a hanging coaster that runs more than 1,300 feet of track.
"From the time guests enter the ride until the time they get off, they're looking for Mayhem around the park, and hopefully bringing him back safely to Merlin every time," said Rick Stammel, General Manager of Dutch Wonderland.
Park officials say it will cost $7.5 million to create the new ride, which will feature a host of special effects. Construction starts this week.
Dutch Wonderland is a family-friendly theme park, geared toward children. It first opened to the public in 1963 and has been voted one of the Top 5 Best Kid’s Parks in the World by Amusement Today magazine.
