2013 Neuheit: Flying Turns (Holz-Bobbahn) @ Knoebels Amusement Park

OH nein - Der arme schöne Park. Nun sieht man ja erst, wie nun doch einiges gelitten hat. Hoffentlich sind sie gut versichert. Denn es wäre wirklich um jede Attraktion schade. Der familiäre Park hat nämlich so viel Charme....

Der Park hat die Katastrophen gut überwunden und ist jetzt wohl wieder vollständig "wiederhergestellt". Es scheint so als ob auch eins der beiden Sorgenkinder heute eröffnet, denn Black Diamond ist jetzt auf der Halloweenmap gelistet, außerdem hat der Park ein mysterises Video auf Facebook gepostet was zum Ride gehören könnte

Die Achterbahn (Black Diamond) hat nun eröffnet und scheint perfekt zu Knoebels zu passen. Ein erstes Bild sowie eine Meinung zum Ride:

-they were running 5 trains (two cars per train, up to four riders per car)
-the restraints are just a single self retracting seat belt that goes across both riders
-there is a stationary bar across the width of the train to give you something to hold onto
-there are no seat dividers so larger riders can take a whole row if necessary

-the ride is surprisingly (and enjoyably) long
-there is a TON to see, especially for how quickly you move through each scene, certainly, this is one of those rides that you will notice new details each time you ride
-the ride has a mixture of very modern effects with old tried and true effects
-the ride is very dark (physically), there's about enough light for you to see the scenes and that's it
-while there is no musical score, there are a lot of sound effects throughout the ride as well as some dialogue
-is the ride scary? not per-say, unless you have a fear of the dark, but there are a few moments that may make you jump (as well as a few moments that may make you laugh)

Overall, a VERY enjoyable ride and a perfect fit for Knoebels! So glad to see this attraction open and I could certainly see this ride making it's way onto some folk's favorite dark ride lists.

Wer sich von der Achterbahn, die ja eigentlich mehr ein Darkride ist überraschen lassen will, der sollte das folgende POV Video nicht schauen, auch wenn ich zugeben muss, dass man nicht wirklich viel erkennen kann

Ich verfolge das Projekt Flying Turns ja nun schon länger mit, ich hoffe wirklich das der Park nächstes Jahr endlich mit diesem Klassiker an den Start gehen kann... Mut soll belohnt werden

Solid news about the status of Knoebel’s Flying Turns project is hard to come by, though I’ve heard through the grapevine that with the help of Mike Boodley, there is a good chance we may finally see the troubled ride open for the 2012 season. Cross your fingers!!
