State Fair of Texas tower construction moves forward

The State Fair of Texas is getting a new attraction!
With a scheduled launch date of May 4, 2013, the State Fair of Texas plans to open Summer Adventures in Fair Park.
Confirming that everything is bigger in Texas is the anticipated 500-ft Top o’ Texas Tower, which will feature stunning views of Fair Park and the city, once completed.
The tower is an $11 million project and will be the focal point of Sumer Adventures in Fair Park.
According to the State Fair of Texas, the tower itself will be a ride. It will also feature an LED light package that can be customized to accompany different music sets.
At 500-ft, the tower will be more than twice the size of the 212-ft Texas Star.
In addition to the tower, the State Fair of Texas plans to launch a host of summer amusement park attractions. They have already installed misters, air conditioned areas, and plenty of shade in anticipation of next year’s opening.
Once completed, Summer Adventures in Fair Park hopes to compete head-to-head with Six Flags over Texas.

Der Turm wächst und die Kräne werden auch immer höher

Cranezilla! The extension has been added our dinosaur of a crane to lift the fifth Top o' Texas Tower support column into place. The support being lifted is 67 feet tall. Once added, the tower will be approximately 300 feet tall with a remaining 200 feet to be installed.

Kann man eigentlich nur hoffen das das Ding ein Flop ist und zum Freefalltower umgebaut wird (wäre 24 Meter höher wie Lex Luthor in SFMM)

Die Eröffnung ist, wie im Bilduntertitel bestätigt, am 4. Mai!

Mein Gott ist dieser Turm gigantisch, obwohl es auf den Bildern von unten aus gesehen gar nicht so hoch vor kommt.
Kann Mario nur zu stimmen das der Besucherandrang nicht so gut laufen soll damit daraus ein Freefall Tower gebaut wird, hehehehehe.

Verdammt ist das hoch.

Ich vermute mal, das es eine Obtische Täuschung ist, denn bei so einer Höhe verliert das Auge (wahrscheinlich) den Überblick.

Dass es schief aussieht, liegt daran, dass die Seile, die vom Turm hängen nicht gleichmäßig hängen (Rechts näher am Turm als links.)
