2013 Neuheit: Transformers the Ride @ Universal Orlando Resorts

Als ich Anfang des Jahres dort war, gab es noch eine zweite Absperrung im Park, und zwar vom Haupteingang kommend das erste oder zweite Gebäude auf der linken Seite. Ich habe allerdings keine Ahnung, was 1. da vor drin war und 2. auf dem Zaun stand. Aber die Grösse der Fläche würde ich ähnlich der obigen Baustelle schätzen.

Was spricht eigentlich für die Transformers? Die Grundfläche kommt mir etwas klein vor, die Spidermanhalle ist z.B. deutlich größer in Länge und Breite.

Man sollte es zwar weiterhin als Gerücht behandeln (es gibt ja noch keine offizielle Bestätigung), aber der große Erfolg in den Universal Studios Hollywood und Singapur dürfte ein klares Indiz sein, außerdem ist die Baufläche exakt genauso groß wie in Hollywood, demnach könnte man ohne die Pläne groß ändern zu müssen eine 1:1 Kopie bauen.

Hier mal der Vergleich der beiden Baugebiete:

Die graue Halle in den Universal Studios (wo Transformers reingebaut wurde) ist recht quadratisch (rund 55 x 55 m groß).

Dazu im Vergleich das Baugebiet in Orlando:

Wenn der schmale Streifen vor der Halle mitgenutzt werden darf dürfte die 1:1 Kopie realistisch sein

Und ja, die Halle von Spiderman ist da wirklich eine andere Größenklasse...

Mal eine grundsätzliche Frage zum Ride: Von der Funktionsweise ist er ja an Spider Man angelehnt (3D und Animatronics Dark-Ride). Ist den schon jemand aus dem Forum gefahren? Mich würde jetzt interessieren inwieweit er an Spider Man rankommt?

Eventuell können sich die Teilnehmer der Coasterfriends Orlando Tour 2013 auch auf Transformers freuen!

According to Screamscape sources, we had previously heard that the push to get Transformers open as soon as possible, but no one had been able to lock down the exact timeline so far. Previously, it seemed like they were shooting for a Winter 2013 opening date, but as it turns out, that seems to be the latest date they were willing to open it. Instead the construction crews are pushing ahead at a faster than light schedule under the hopes to having Transformers ready to roll out to the guests by mid to late September 2013. Yes, it seems that Transformers could very well be a featured new attraction for Halloween Horror Nights 23, provided no major construction or weather related problems come into play over the next year.

Wäre auf jeden Fall genial wenn es bis dahin fertig wäre

Bei dem Tempo halte ich Herbst 2013 sogar für realistisch!

I’ve got a quick correction… one that will really impress some of you, and sure to send others into a tizzy of disbelief. Apparently I did my math wrong… because I’ve been informed that if all goes as planned, Universal Studios Florida will actually be ready to open Transformers: The Ride as early as June 2013! This is just utterly shocking… and will apparently require construction crews to be working 24/7 to accomplish this amazing feat, but at the rapid pace they have set, it certainly does look possible.

Hört sich zwar gut an, aber es steht auf screamscape und da kann man öfters mal etwas abziehen...

Wirklich ein krasser Zeitplan wenn es wirklich so schnell vorangehen sollte...

For those wondering, the crane and construction work is really going full tilt however, as the crane was very active even in the middle of the night during Horror Nights. It is clear there is a tight schedule to maintain and a deadline to keep. Speaking of the frantic schedule, I’ve been told that the short-term goals is the finish the framework in October and gets the outer solid walls up by November. Don’t expect to see the official announcement for Transformers however until well after Christmas… most likely in January or February 2013. With such a tight timetable, they want to get to a point where the building is walled off, roofed, and all they have to focus on in the interior work and not have to worry about any possible weather related delays (ie: Hurricane, Tropical Storm, etc…) throwing a monkey wrench into the ultra right timetable. Once they hit a certain milestone, they can try to narrow town a general target date and make the big announcement. After all, they want to avoid another Rip, Ride, Rockit style project, full of delays that could push it back into the fall, and disappoint the summer guests.
