Funny how some of the Mammoth construction shots look like we brought in some toys from home ... did anyone have knitting spools as a child? That's what those footers in the foreground look like to me.

Now that's what you call a MAMMOTH pump pit ... and control building!

A look inside Mammoth's ever-growing pump pit.

This is a rebar "cage." Cages are pre-assembled then lowered into a pit that has been over dug to allow proper coverage of concrete surrounding reinforcement bar (rebar). Part of the Mammoth will sit just above this (and this bar will be "fossilized" deep beneath the surface).

Mittlerweile hat man auch für den Zamperla Vertical Swing einen Namen gefunden, die Attraktion wird den Namen "Sparkler" tragen

A sparkly swing!

New in 2012: Sparkler is a fun swing ride that even smaller children can ride! Children 36" and taller may ride this 65-foot-tall vertical swing ride with bigger family members.
Sparkler has all double seats, so you can snuggle up with your little patriot as you fly high over Holiday World's 4th of July section.

The big roll is the conveyor for Mammoth's ride-up lift.

Here's the conveyor, all rolled up. This summer, it will carry Mammoth boats full of riders up the water coaster's lifthill.

Dan dragged his mom out in the 30-degree weather yesterday morning to step inside a piece of the Mammoth puzzle. These tunnel pieces are HUGE!

Der Aufbau hat begonnen:

Dan started it last night, by tweeting we were in for a "Mammoth Monday." (You may have noticed he's quite fond of 1970/'80s pop culture.)
It turned into quite a fun-day, as the first pieces of Mammoth fiberglass took flight.

It all began shortly after 7:30 this morning.
This first piece is part of Mammoth's first drop.

We started with a low-to-the-ground piece.
Yes, it's all ... ahem! ... uphill from here.

Each piece of Mammoth fiberglass will be lovingly guided into place by a human while being hoisted by a mammoth crane.

Das sieht doch schon sehr interessant aus .

Ich kann die Entscheidung des Parks eine weitere Bahn dieser Art zu bauen sehr gut nachvollziehen.
Die Dinger machen irre Fun, auch wenn ich nur wesentlich kleinere Ableger aus einem Wasserpark in Calella kenne. Aber auch da hieß es 40 Minuten anstehen für so ne Fahrt. Sehr ärgerlich das dort Bahn Nummer 2 der Art geschlossen hatte.
Ich denke solche Bahnen kann man fast nie genug haben, zumal das Teil ja wirklich massiv groß ist.
