2013 Neuheit: Sky Screamer @ Six Flags Over Texas

Der Park hat heute verkündet, dass 2 Attraktionen entfernt werden, da diese direkt nebeneinander stehen, gehe ich mal davon aus, dass sie für eine neue Attraktion Platz machen werden!

Mal sehen was der Park plant

Weichen müssen der Boomerang "Flashback" und der Intamin Parachute Tower "Texas Chute Out":

Six Flags Over Texas is inviting guests to join in and say farewell to Texas Chute Out and Flashback over the Labor Day weekend.

Texas Chute Out opened at the park in 1976 and was modeled after the old parachute drop at Coney Island. More than 29 million riders have travelled up and down the ride’s 200-foot structure. One of the most popular modes of travel on this ride was the basket, which allowed guests to stand in a basket to take in the picturesque skyline. The baskets were removed in 1994 and replaced with the standard chairs. This iconic attraction has been a long time favorite of guests young and old since its opening.

Its neighboring ride, Flashback, opened in 1989. The boomerang-styled coaster was one of the first built in the United States. The corkscrew spiraled layout flips riders upside down a total of six times—three times forward and three times backwards at speeds up to 50 mph. It has thrilled over 17 million park-goers for more than three decades.

Labor Day weekend, park guests are invited to come out and enjoy these rides one last time and join in for the final farewell on Monday, September 3. For more information on Texas Chute and Flashback, visit sixflags.com/overtexas.

Bei Six Flags ist ja mit Raten immer schwer, könnte ja auch nur das übliche "Bäumchen wechsel dich "werden?!

Wenn man den Gerüchten ein wenig Glauben schenkt, soll X Flight der neue Batman von SF werden. Insofern würde es mich nicht wundern, wenn auch hier demnächst ein Wing Rider steht.

Allerdings ist der jetzt geschaffene Platz wohl sehr unpraktisch, es sei denn, man macht das danebenliegende Motel (was sehr leer aussieht) platt oder baut den Track über den See zwischen dem Park und der eh schon weit abseits stehenden Judge Roy Scream.

Da sieht man gut wie groß die Fläche ungefähr ist.

Gegen weitere Wing Coaster hat denke ich keiner was einzuwenden! Die sind massentauglich und lassen sich wirklich gut fahren.

Was ist das für eine Halle direkt neben den Boomerang?
Wenn die abgerissen werden würde, könnte der Wingcoaster gut draufpassen (mit First Drop, wo jetzt der Texas Chute Out steht.)

Anscheinend kommt die alte Autoscooterhalle hinter dem Boomerang auch weg (oben auf dem Bild zu sehen)! Da ist also genug Bauplatz für etwas großes neues

Screamscape sources tell us that when Six Flags over Texas removes Flashback and the Texas Chute-Out, crews will also remove the old bumper car building as well, which has been used as the location for the Dead End Blood Alley haunted house for Fright Fest. Look for this haunt to be moved to a new location, possibly into the Texas Arcade building.

Am 30. enthüllt Six Flags wohl alle Neuheiten für alle Parks der Gruppe dann wissen wir auf jeden Fall bescheid!

Momentan macht das Gerücht die Runde, dass für den Texas Chute Out ein Starflyer in den Park kommt!

With only a few days left before the big announcement for SFOT, you can expect to see the new 400 foot Star Flyer ride replace the Texas Chuteout and be named something along the lines of Texas Sky Screamer.
(7/25/12) It has been revealed that Six Flags New England is planning a 400 foot Sky Screamer for 2013, which sounds very familiar to what I had heard was proposed for Six Flags over Texas as well. Need another good hint? Apparently at the meeting with the city to pitch the ride, the SFNE president mentioned that the New England ride proposal was just one of TWO such rides that Six Flags was planning on installing at their parks in 2013. I think we know where the other will go. For comparisons sake, it’s fun to note that the park’s Oil Derrick tower stands “only” 300 feet tall at the tippy tippy top.

Falls eine Achterbahn geplant war, dann ist diese wohl auch um mindestens ein Jahr nach hinten verschoben worden... dieses Jahr kommt ein Starflyer, dafür aber der höchste der Welt!
