Real Hogwarts Express at Wizarding World to feature various storylines as you ride the train

Universal Orlando has been quietly working on the second phase of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, and today we’re learning more about what to expect when you ride the real Hogwarts Express.
We’ve known for some time that Universal’s Islands of Adventure is working on a real Hogwarts Express train to connect their existing Harry Potter area with a brand new, London/Diagon Alley-themed one at sister park Universal Studios. Up until now we weren’t sure exactly how Universal will entertain passengers on the train ride.
MiceChat writes, “the train will be an immersive experience hauling you between London and Hogwarts. You’ll encounter students on the train and see elements of the Potter world play out in front of you through the windows of the train (such as the Weasley’s flying car and a Dementor attack). Rides will offer variation, so if you make the trip between the parks more than once, you won’t experience the same exact story.”
We imagine that Universal may employ some of the technology they use on their King Kong 360 3-D ride at Universal Hollywood which surrounds you with screens to make you feel like you’re in a completely different environment. It looks like Universal is hoping to use scenes that happened on the train in the film on the park ride.
Last month we shared some physical evidence of Universal’s London-themed Wizarding World project. Diagon Alley is expected to have a Gringotts thrill ride, a new restaurant, and several shops. It is likely to open in 2014 or 2015. Meanwhile, Universal is working on Wizarding World lands at their Hollywood and Japan locations.

One of the big questions about the London project has been an endless speculation about just who will build the coaster ride system inside the rumored Gringott’s Bank. Almost every coaster manufacture in the book has been mentioned once or twice, with only a few exceptions.
It was the mention of one of these rare exceptions to me earlier this week that just made my brain explode. While most have been expecting to see Premier Rides come in to work on the project, or one or two other choice favorites, someone slipped the name Intamin to me the other day. The primary reason behind the rumor was the idea that a Freefall Drop Track gimmick may be used at some point in the ride, very similar to the one Intamin build for Thirteen at Alton Towers. Unfortunately that ride, like many Intamin coasters, was plagued with issues and some extended bouts of downtime it’s first year, which was a primary reason Busch Gardens Williamsburg opted to try out Zierer’s version of the same element on Verbolten. (Not to mention getting stung by the Intamin downtime bug with Cheetah Hunt in Tampa just the year before…)
So would Universal opt to try out Intamin on Gringott’s of all things? On top of having their own rumored bad experienced with past Intamin products, I shudder to think that Universal would be willing to risk their big Harry Potter themed coaster ride, one that will have people lined up around the resort for hours, all hinging on the hope of little to no downtime issues from an Intamin coaster. After all, we saw what a quick poor choice selection of coaster manufacture did for Universal over at Hollywood, Rip, Ride, Rockit. And if Universal thought they had unexpected issues with the size of the restraint system used on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, most Intamin restraints are even more size restrictive to those who are overweight.
Anyone else know anything more solid about who may be behind Universal’s next coaster project?

Okay, dass über den Coaster sind ja wirklich nur reine Spekulationen. Ich persönlich stehe ja immer noch der Vermutung nahe, dass uns hier wieder einmal ein komplett neues Ride System erwartet. Einen Intamin Coaster in einer Halle kann ich mir da kaum vorstellen. Der könnte ja dann keine Größeren Ausmaße haben als Thirteen und das erinnert mich dann schon eher an Kinderachterbahn (sorry)...

Das mit dem Hogwarts Express klingt natürlich sehr interessant und festigt die bisherigen Gerüchte der Bildschirm Fenster, bzw. King Kong 3D Technik.

Im gleichen Park steht schon eine Achterbahn in der Halle. Die dürfte doch niemand als Kinderbahn einstufen.

Stimmt daran habe ich nicht gedacht. Hatte in meinem Kopf nur Thirteen auf eine Größe geschrumpft, die in die Halle passen würde.

Bitte bitte eröffnet das 2014! Würde so gerne in den Genuss dieser mit Sicherheit ebenfalls gigantischen Attraktionenwelt kommen und der neue Darkridecoaster wird sicherlich ein weiteres Highlight in Orlando. Ich kann jetzt auch noch nicht deuten, welcher Hersteller das sein wird. Premier Rides wäre schon denkbar, aber mal abwarten.

Auf den Bildern werden die Größen der beiden neuen Hallen in den Studios nochmal richtig deutlich. Da wird ganz schön geklotzt.

Wenn man sich ein bissl in den Filmen auskennt kann man jetzt schon eraten wie die Umsetzung in den Grundrissen in Etwa aussieht

Auf den Bildern werden die Größen der beiden neuen Hallen in den Studios nochmal richtig deutlich. Da wird ganz schön geklotzt.

Die Halle für den neuen Coaster ist riesig auf den Luftbildern, der Coaster wird der Hammer werden... Mit allen Baustellen die mittlerweile alle in den Studios aufgemacht wurden wird sich das Bild des gesamten Parks komplett ändern. Bin nächstes Jahr im Oktober gespannt wie es dann in real schon aussehen wird!!!
